TRVLD / ALASKA SUMMER 2027
Blue glacier pools. Brown bears at Brooks Falls.
A week that feels a world away.
A GLIMPSE OF YOUR ALASKA
Two glimpses from a past Alaska summer trip.
THE ALASKA YOU CAME FOR
Start with a helicopter into glacier country. Finish with bears, river days, and evenings at the lodge.
We bring together three nights in downtown Anchorage and three nights in King Salmon on the Naknek River, with your choice of Knik Glacier adventure and a day trip to Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park for grizzly bear viewing.
There’s time to settle in, explore, and work around Alaska’s changing weather. We’ll shape the details around your dates and the way you like to travel.
01 / INTO GLACIER COUNTRY
Lift off from the Palmer area into glacier country. Paddle a meltwater pool, step onto the ice, or spend more time exploring from above. Choose the experience that feels like you.

Brooks Falls · Katmai National Park02 / INTO BEAR COUNTRY
This is one of them.
Leave King Salmon in the morning for a day at Brooks Camp, home to the famous Brooks Falls. After the park’s bear-safety orientation, spend time watching from the designated viewing areas.
Return to your lodge in King Salmon the same day. Your room stays yours throughout your time in bear country.
03 / A DAY ON THE RIVER
Add a guided fishing day on the day you’re not flying to Brooks. The Naknek River is right on your lodge’s doorstep, so this part of the trip keeps you close to your base.
Optional guided fishing · Quoted separately
TWO PLACES TO FEEL AT HOME

Enough time to unpack and settle in.
NIGHTS 1–3DOWNTOWN ANCHORAGE

YOUR WEEK, AT A GLANCE
A sample order with breathing room built in. We schedule weather-dependent experiences early where possible and keep the two full King Salmon days flexible.
The open Anchorage day offers a possible retry window. In King Salmon, the bear and fishing days may be swapped. This improves flexibility, but doesn’t guarantee a replacement departure.
THE DETAILS, TAKEN CARE OF
Two stays, your glacier adventure, and a day in bear country.
We’ll confirm your itinerary, accommodation and travel arrangements before you book. Summer 2027 departures are subject to availability.
Starting prices are per person based on two adults sharing one room. Dates, availability and final arrangements are confirmed in your quote. Travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses and extra nights are additional. Final payment and cancellation terms accompany your quote.
GOOD TO KNOW
We’ll recommend dates around your priorities. July is a strong starting point for bears at Brooks Falls. Paddleboarding is currently listed by the operator from May 15 to September 14, subject to conditions; not every date in that window offers the same bear or fishing experience. We’ll confirm the 2027 schedule before booking.
No. Choose a Knik Glacier landing or Grand Knik experience instead. Swim and hike is another option. The price and requirements change with the adventure you select.
Flights and glacier activities are weather dependent. Strong winds may prevent paddleboarding while swimming and hiking may still be possible, if conditions are safe. If helicopter flying conditions are unsafe, we’ll work with the operator to try to reschedule.
We’ve left a flexible Anchorage day and two full days in King Salmon to help with changes. Rescheduling depends on space and suitable conditions and is not guaranteed. Limited paddleboarding availability may mean an alternative glacier-focused tour instead. Your quote will include the operators’ cancellation terms.
Glaciers change constantly and usually have surface silt. Jumping cliffs, large pools, white ice, water slides, ice channels and overhead ice features are never guaranteed.
Sunny days can feel very warm, with less vivid pool colors. Cold days can mean chilly conditions and icy pools. Rain usually brings colder, somewhat slippery conditions but more vivid color; overcast days can also bring vivid melt-pool colors. The weather and ice determine what is accessible on the day.
You’ll stay at a lodge in King Salmon for three nights. Brooks Camp and Brooks Falls are a day trip, with a morning departure and same-day return. An overnight stay at Brooks Camp is not part of this itinerary.
Possibly, depending on dates, runs and fishing regulations. We’ll confirm with the lodge before building a king-salmon-focused fishing day. A catch or a particular species is never guaranteed; licenses and any required stamps will be specified in your quote.
Paddleboarding and swim-and-hike are moderate activities for ages 13 and up. Glacier landing tours offer a lighter alternative. Brooks Falls involves walking, outdoor waiting and following park instructions. The private paddleboarding excursion requires guests to be 13 or older because the helicopter does not remain on the glacier. Tell us about mobility needs so we can check suitability before you book.
For paddleboarding, guests over 250 lb may find that the board sits lower in the water. This is separate from the helicopter and drysuit limits.
The standard helicopter seat limit is 299 lb including clothing. Guests above this need an alternate aircraft confirmed in advance, subject to availability. The largest drysuit is sized for guests up to 305 lb; if you are close to that weight, we’ll request measurements to check fit. Drysuit sizing does not override the aircraft limit.
The paddleboarding equipment may not be suitable for guests with a severe latex allergy. Tell us before booking so we can discuss possible equipment solutions with the operator and confirm whether participation is possible.
Bring multiple warm upper-body and trouser layers, usually three of each, plus a puffy jacket and thick socks. Pack a hat and gloves for time out of the water, sunglasses, and a backpack with sunblock, a change of clothes and socks, and extra layers.
Remove jewelry before the tour: sharp pieces can snag and tear the drysuit seals.
Paddleboarding check-in is one hour before the excursion. Late check-in may result in a shortened or cancelled tour with no refund.
We’ll confirm your pickup location and time for your selected departure. Shuttle “return” times refer to departure from the glacier tour lodge, not arrival in Anchorage; allow approximately another 1.5 hours to reach Anchorage. Ground-transfer arrangements and inclusions will be confirmed in your quote.
The paddleboarding excursion is private, so special requests may sometimes be possible. Proposals, drones and polar plunges all need advance approval from the operator. Tell us before booking so we can check your request; none is guaranteed.
